What is the LINK Corporate Spelling Bee?
The LINK Corporate Spelling Bee is the primary fundraiser for Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission’s Literacy Program, called Literacy in Northern Kentucky (or LINK). The Spelling Bee introduces the community to the importance of literacy and makes them aware of the literacy issues that exists right here in Northern Kentucky. Besides raising funds and awareness, the Spelling Bee is a fun event.
Who competes in the Spelling Bee?
Corporations, nonprofits and governmental organizations provide teams of three to compete in the Spelling Bee. Adult competitors from all walks of life are asked to spell increasingly difficult words, with teams being eliminated as they mispell a word. The competition is stiff, but lighthearted, with the judge-executives from Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties serving as judges for the event.
