NKCAC has trained staff to assist consumers in purchasing healthcare benefits through the Federal Healthcare Connection. During its first year, the program assisted over 500,000 uninsured Kentuckians get covered by private insurance plans or Medicaid and the Kentucky Children’s Health Insurance Program (KCHIP).
NKCAC’s Application Assisters help people in Boone, Campbell, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen, and Pendleton counties navigate the new healthcare options that are available to them, whether private insurance is the best option or if they qualify for coverage under the Medicaid expansion.
Moving forward the program will be known as NKCAC Healthcare Enrollment Service. We will continue to offer the same services as we did through kynect and will have in-person Assisters, to help navigate the system and answer questions you might have. The Assisters will be facilitating enrollment for Medicaid through Kentucky’s approved portal and for private plans on the Federal marketplace.
NKCAC Healthcare Enrollment Services:
Medicaid Enrollment is year-round! Private insurance enrollment is available during the open enrollment period – now through December 15. However, enrollment is also possible when a life change occurs (marriage, divorce, birth, death, or job loss).
Finding the right plan can be difficult. Schedule a private appointment with an Application Assister in your county to discuss your options.
