Summer Fun at Head Start Summer Day Camp
COVINGTON, KY. –“Mom, I’m bored” won’t be one of the things you will have to hear this summer if your children attend the Head Start Summer Day Camp. Camp is open to all children ages three to 10 at the Covington, Newport and Elsmere Head Start Centers. Wonderful educational programs and fun activities are planned to keep the kids inspired over the summer.
Trips to the park to learn about nature, a BB Riverboat animal cruise, reading programs, trips to the Art Museum and health education are just a few of the fun, educational programs that will be featured this summer. “This summer camp curriculum is rich with educational activities and invites children to let their imaginations run wild” said Joan Menning, Head Start Director for Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission.
The Summer Day Camp is state certified and open Monday through Friday 6:00am to 6:00pm and costs $100.00 a week per child. Art appreciation, science classes and trips to the pool are all part of the excitement that this Head Start program has to offer.
