Grant for safety upgrades to headquarters received

The Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission has received a $24,000.00 grant from The Greater Cincinnati Foundation (GCF) for our “Restore Hope” Capital Campaign. Funds were allocated from GCF's Northern Kentucky Fund and the Underwriters' Salvage Corps Fund.

The GCF grant will be used to fund a new fire monitoring system and to upgrade and make repairs to the sprinkler system in the agency’s administrative services center. NKCAC recently purchased a historic building in Covington’s central business district.  The building was built in the late 1800s as a livery.  It later served as a furniture store, and then Storer Cable (now Insight). “The Greater Cincinnati Foundation has been a generous and enduring partner over the years, and we are honored that the giving committee recognized the need to make these safety and other upgrades for this historic and architecturally important structure.” said Florence Tandy, the agency’s Executive Director.

Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission is a nonprofit organization serving eight counties in Northern Kentucky.  The agency offers early childhood education, home weatherization and repair, job training, financial assistance, healthy relationship and financial literacy education. This support helps local families develop the knowledge, opportunities and resources they need to achieve self reliance.
