Your used books can provide a better future for low income families

Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission is looking for your old books, DVDs and CDs to make a difference in the lives of the low income families it serves. If you've been meaning to rid your bookcases, closets, basement, garage of all those books collecting dust, now is the time. Used books, DVDs, CDs can be taken to any Northern Kentucky Community Action location.

You will benefit from a tax deduction for your donation, while NKCAC will be able to use your donation in a variety of ways:

  • For our six Head Start centers, to provide early reading experiences 3 and 4 year old children and their families.
  • In our literacy programs, which provide tutoring services for adults learning to read.
  • To provide job experience and training opportunities for low income trainees.
  • By turning the books into cash that will be used to provide services to help low income families become self-reliant.

Items sought include fiction and nonfiction, children's books, movies and music; audio books; and self-help titles. Textbooks or pornographic literature will not be accepted.
