2007 Summer Food Service program sites
One of the realities of summer for many families, is the extra cost of providing a nutritious noon meal while the kids are out of school. During the school year, most low income families participate in the free and reduced cost meal programs offered in their schools. But in the summer months, families must bear this extra expense, and often child nutrition suffers. To offset this problem, Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission's Head Start program provides free nutritious meals for children of any age in partnership with local faith based, recreation and education organizations.
