NKCAC is committed to helping children get a good start in life, and so sponsors six Head Start pre-school centers serving Boone, Campbell, Kenton and Pendleton Counties.

Each of these centers participates in the Commonwealth of Kentucky's STARS program (each achieving a 2 or 3 STAR rating); and utilizes the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS) rating scale.

Classrooms are set up to meet the individual needs of each child, who benefit from comprehensive screening which includes:both a comprehensive family needs assessment and hearing, vision, speech, education, physical, dental assessments.
