POSITION: Resource Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Head Start
LOCATION: Newport, but traveling throughout the region
PROGRAM SUMMARY: Fulfill responsibilities as an Early Childhood development and health services team member such as:
- Scheduling and/or attending meetings regarding children transitioning into or out of Head Start.
- Assisting with program visits and transfer of enrollees’ enrollment records.
- Providing parents and/or agencies with program information.
- Scheduling transition meetings with receiving school districts.
- Compiling information for transitioning students and parents.
- Compiling and completing reporting as may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS: A degree in early childhood education preferred with relevant experience with pre-school children and low income population. Proficient written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in computer skills such as Word and Excel programs and databases.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two years experience in pre-school services to children.
OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Ability to work with people of diverse and varying socio-economic backgrounds.
