Applying for Weatherization Services

To receive Weatherization services, you must complete an application at one of the eight Neighborhood Centers serving the Northern Kentucky region and provide the following information and documentation:

  • Name, age, and social security numbers for all home occupants.
  • Monthly income verification for all occupants.
  • Energy bills from the last 12 months or a print out from your utility company.
  • Proof of ownership of property to be weatherized.

How will Weatherization affect my utility bill?

Energy expenses comprise an economic drain on low-income communities. On average, energy bills account for about 14% of a low-income families gross income, and for many it may account for 20% or more. When a home is weatherized, a family can expect an average savings of 15% of their energy bills. Beyond the energy savings, families will have safer, more comfortable homes.

What services are not performed by Weatherization?

The Weatherization Program will not replace or repair a roof, concrete, plumbing, or perform cosmetic or structural repair to the home, though our staff may be able to help connect you to loan and grant programs that can help with these home repairs.
